What makes a good story? Where do we writers come up with our wierd ideas and thoughts to fill all the pages of books?
I’ve heard many authors say to write what you know. What does that mean? Do I write only about sermon preparations, the meanings of Bible words, or give guidance on understanding Scripture passages? After, all I am a minister and this is what I know.
I know a lot more about life than just what happens in the walls of the church, and in covers of my Bible. I have learned over the years to understand relationships and people in various ways, as I have had to interact with a variety of people over the years. Newspapers, movies, magazines, and of course the internet give all of us thousands of places every day to find ideas for our stories.
Keep watching life, and keep writing the ideas down.
